Narrative: Alex Gillis born 1900 was a native of S W Margaree, the son of Malcolm H Gillis and Margaret MacFarlane.  He was a fiddler of note and eventually moved to the Boston states, where he promoted Cape Breton culture by organizing dances and ceilidhs in that city.  He died in 1974.
